Friday Night Class, Open Training Time
6:30 - 8:30 pm
Friday night
class is available for members of
the Practical Self Defense Training Center to train in any area you would like to work on. Some people wrestle,
while others are stick or knife drilling or sparring or escalating their Jeet
Kune Do, Thai Boxing and/or no holds barred training skills.
Some people come down at that time just to hit the bag or to lift weights at
their leisure. It is also a very good time to learn from one another. How about this;
if you miss a class that week, you can take advantage of the Friday
classes to
get something in so you can still continue your growth and progression in the
martial arts as opposed to doing
nothing at all.
Ultimately, whatever type of ring
fighting you are training for, that is a good time to get in some fight time and
experience by planning ahead of time with other students to do some training for
that night; you only benefit by getting more time in. Or if you are not training for a fight but you would like to be in a
fighters condition, you can train right along
side the ones who are fighting to get in more combat experience for yourself. You can see
it is not a time for formal lessons. Although there is always someone there to
answer questions if there is a problem area. If you are training for a big
tournament or fighting pro more time is made available to you by one of the
instructors at the Practical Self Defense Training Center.
This time is recommended for your own
self-improvement. Whether you are putting in some mat time or just going over
techniques…practice is the only way to make self-defense a natural response if
a situation should transpire. As the late Guro Edgar Sulite used to
say..."repetition is the essence of all martial arts."
