In-Tents Kun Tao Dumpag 3 Day Camp Out
This unique Filipino martial art workshop will be conducted by Ron
Kosakowski
August 3rd, 4th & 5th, 2012
Keep in touch if you are interested in learning this unique
style.
Located:
571 Quaker Farms Road
Oxford, Connecticut
This is going to be approximately 8 hours a day of intense
Kuntao training. There will be breaks for lunch, water and rest in between
training.
Friday - The use of hand movements and foot
work, monitoring your opponent
which will place you in position before your opponent can get to you.
That is a science within itself. You will learn how to use what your opponent does against him. Hitting
without being hit. This is the foundation of Kuntao Dumpag that will make
the rest of the style easier to learn. The training methods for the
traditional balance and conditioning will also be worked on and understood
also.
Then some camping fun, a good chance of
some demonstrations will be done during social gathering, dinner and laugh time.
Saturday - A lot of coverage on the ground fighting aspects of Kuntao
will be shown here. These fighting methods are unique to Kuntao. This is not
the mainstream wrestling methods you see now a days. These ground fighting
methods were created to defend worse case scenario situations should you end
up there. These tactics were created to defend multi-man attack and
weapon defense situations...things you do not want end up against in a
wrestling situation. This area of Kuntao training is a very good core
workout so be prepared to get a good workout for this course. This is stuff
not seen in other martial art styles.
Sunday - The most dangerous
situation you can be up against is a knife wielding individual who wants to
kill you. Our Kuntao adage is, "get cut but be skilled enough not to get
killed." Here you will really see how the Kuntao monitoring system situation
along with functional foot work coordinated with the hand movements really
help this dangerous situation. Many static knife, as in hostage situations or
getting robbed or just threatened will be shown as well.
Between 4:00 and 5pm Sunday, pictures taken to preserve good memories, last
minute questions then we all go home. I would say
prepare to go home approximately 6pm to be safe.
