Kuntao 3 day In-Tents Camp
26th & 27th, 2014
This is one of our summer annual events that is always a big one.
If you are into learning Filipino martial arts, you will not want to miss
out on this one.
602 Southford Rd
11 acres where you can pitch a tent to eat and sleep then train all
day...and have fun.
Yes, July is hot. We solved that problem, there is a big
in-ground pool to dive into in between training to cool off. It would be
crazy to miss out on this event!
This is going to be approximately 8 hours a day of intense
Kuntao training. There will be breaks for lunch, water and rest in between
Friday - I have a good lesson
for you here. Knife fights or gun fights never just so happen to be a
stand-off where you know its going to happen ahead of time after a bow.
Here, I will show you how to get to your knife, or gun when you are
approached by one of more people holding a weapon on you. Many are confident
when they have a weapon on them, but what to do when you are with your wife,
girlfriend and/or kids when someone puts a knife or a gun to your throat, or
theirs is a problem that has to be solved. This is where you will see the
science behind Kuntao footwork and body movements. Do NOT miss the first
day, you will miss out on a valuable lesson so be on time for this one.
Then some camping fun, a good chance of
some demonstrations will be done during social gathering, dinner and fun time.
Saturday - The sensitivity drilling methods of Kuntao. How to get the
reflexes to pull the techniques from Kuntao off. This is the lesson that is
valuable to Kuntao to feel when, where, and how to pull the moves learned
off during a self defense potential situation. The use of hand movements and foot work, monitoring your
which will place you in position before your opponent can get to you.
This is a science within itself. You will learn in a step by step
progression how to use what your opponent does against him. Hitting
without being hit is obviously what everyone wants to know...here is your
chance to gain this skill. This is the foundation of Kuntao that will make
the rest of the style easier to learn. The training methods for the
traditional balance and conditioning will also be worked on and understood
We will take the steps right through to random play from the
sensitivity exercises so you can see the potential gains. This area of Kuntao training is a very good
workout so be prepared.
Sunday - The most dangerous
situation you can be up against is a knife wielding individual who wants to
kill you. Our Kuntao adage is, "get cut but be skilled enough not to get
killed." Here you will really see how the Kuntao monitoring system situation
along with functional foot work coordinated with the hand movements really
help this dangerous situation. Many static knife, as in hostage situations or
getting robbed or just threatened will be shown as well. The difference
this year is how we put these two...stationary knife and knife wielding self
defense together. Its nice to know what to do when up against a
non-compliant individual who has the mindset to kill you.
Between 4:00 and 5pm Sunday, pictures taken to preserve good memories, last
minute questions then we all go home. I would say
prepare to go home approximately 6 pm to be safe.
